The compost yard is located on County Road 175 East near the new soccer fields

We have SPECIFIC recycling bins set up for each of the following categories

What you can recycle

Newspapers

PLEASE PLACE IN PROPER RECYCLE BINS

Recycle all newspapers  including the glossy inserts that come with your newspaper. Each ton of paper recycled saves 11 trees.

Please recycle phone books, brown paper bags, magazines & catalogs. Please place in  the household & office paper containers. 

 

 

Clear & Colored Plastic #1 and #2 

Please Recycle The Following

Milk jugs, 2 & 3 Liter soft drink bottles, colored plastic containers, such as fabric softener, shampoo bottles, detergent, bleach, orange juice and other containers marked #1 and #2 on the bottom. To conserve space please rinse, remove caps  and crush. Oil, antifreeze, pesticide and herbicide containers and other hazardous material containers can be taken to all recycling centers.
 

 

Aluminum & Bimetal Cans

LIMBS,  BRUSH & WOOD

Please rinse and place in aluminum recycling bin. You do not have to remove labels from the cans. To conserve space please crush your cans by stepping on them. You can recycle all food and beverage cans. Disposal of small limbs, brush and mulchable, 
 

 

Clear Colored Glass

White Goods

All clear and colored food and beverage containers are accepted at all sites. Please remove tops and rinse. Place in proper recycle bin.  White goods are accepted at the compost yard. A small fee will apply.
 

 

Household & Office Paper

Automotive Type Batteries & Tires

You can recycle 99% of all office & household paper including junk mail, catalogs, card, post-it-notes, envelopes, photo paper, and  computer print-outs. It is OK to leave the labels, staples and paperclips on.  Tires are accepted at the compost yard a fee of $1.50 for each tire and $2.00 for tires left on the rim. Automotive Batteries are also accepted at the compost yard for a $2.00 fee.
 

 

OCC Corrugated Cardboard Boxes

Household Scrap Metal

Brown paper bags, wrapping paper, gift boxes, cereal boxes, all dry food boxes, it is ok to leave  the staples and glue on the boxes. Please crush the boxes to conserve space at the Recycling Center.  Scrap metal is only accepted at the compost yard.
 

 

Household Batteries

Used Motor Oil and Filters

All household Batteries can be recycled at the Recycling Centers. Used motor oil and filters may be taken to the Haubstadt, Princeton and Oakland City Recycle Centers. NO OTHER FLUID ACCEPTED.
