Recycle? |

|
Recycling SAVES everyone in Gibson County
MONEY |
|
| Gibson County Solid Waste District
pays a fee for every ton of trash hauled to the landfill. Who funds the
Solids Waste District, YOU DO through your TAX
DOLLARS. When we recycle
everyone benefits through lower taxes. |

Our children will
benefit through a cleaner and safer environment |

| Recycling Aluminum conserves 95% of
the energy required to process it from virgin ore, reduces the amount of
pollutants released into the environment during the manufacturing of
aluminum. |
| |
| For every ton of paper we recycle
WE SAVE 17 TREES, 25 barrels of oil, 7,000
gallons of water, and three cubic yards of landfill space. Paper products
make up 40-50% of the trash we haul to the landfills. |
| |
| When we recycle glass it produces no waste or
by-products and takes less energy than making new glass from raw materials.
GLASS IS 100% RECYCLABLE and can be recycled
over and over and over again. We should never
throw glass away. |
| |
| The cost of landfilling trash and garbage is rising every
day
due to the new state and federal regulations being placed on landfill
operations. Who pays for that - we all do though our
taxes. The goal of many Cities and Towns is to Recycle 25% of their
waste thereby conserving landfill space, and saving Cities and Counties
money. Don't throw your money away -- START RECYCLING
TODAY. |
