US Congressman. Served in the United States Army during the War of 1812. Elected to represent Indiana's 1st District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1823 until his death in 1824. Also served as a Member of the Indiana Territorial Council in 1809, Indiana Territorial Auditor from 1810 to 1813, Delegate to the Indiana State Constitutional Convention in 1816, Member of the Indiana State Senate in 1816, Circuit Judge from 1816 to 1818, and Member of the Indiana State House of Representatives from 1821 to 1822.
