David A. Davison was Princeton's Eleventh Mayor. He was elected on November 9, 1909 and assumed his duties of office on January 3, 1910.

Davison was born to Reese and Catherine "Wayrick" Davison on March 11, 1866 in Marshall, Illinois.

Davison received his elementary schooling in Marshall, Illinois and would later attend the Indiana State Normal School at Terre Haute. Davison was determined to take up the Veterinary profession as his life work. He graduated in 1892 from Chicago Veterinary College, receiving a degree as a Doctor of Veterinary Science. Immediately upon his graduation he opened his own veterinary practice in Marshall, Illinois, where he remained for 6 years. 

On May 27, 1891 Davison was married to Alice M. Harris and in May 1898 they both moved to Princeton, Indiana, where Davison opened a successful veterinary practice. 

Davison and his wife built a fine two-story brick animal hospital which was completed June 15, 1907. The hospital also served as their home. The hospital was very well equipped in every respect for the treatment of horses, including an operating table, foot tub and an elevator to lift the horses to the second floor. 

For about a year Davison was the proprietor of a drug store later known as the H.G. May Store. The H.G. May drug store was located on the corner of Main & Broadway

Politically, Davison was a strong Republican and was elected Mayor in 1910. He conducted his city courtroom in an impartial manner. 

Mayor Davison was a member of the Elks, and the Tribe of Ben-Hur. Davison and his family were members of the United Presbyterian Church.
