Well known Dentist and Republican, Joseph G. Pepple was elected Princeton's twentieth Mayor. He took office in 1943.
Dr. Pepple was born in Sumner, Illinois on February 18, 1896 and had resided in Princeton most of his life.
Dr. Pepple, although not a native of Princeton, climbed the civic ladder to the top rung in 1943 when he was elected Mayor. Pepple was friend to all that became acquainted with him and had good friends on both sides of the political fence.
Dr. Pepple was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, past Exalted Ruler of the Elks, past Commander of the American Legion Post of Princeton and served as District Commander of the Legion.
He took a very active interest in American Legion Junior Baseball and was interested in all High School sports.
