Frank Wade made a successful bid to become Princeton's twenty-eighth Mayor and took his place in office on January 1, 1984.
Wade was born on May 12, 1931 to Rev. L.F. and Helen Aetna Wade in Guyman, Oklahoma.
Frank entered the United States Air Force in 1950 and soon thereafter would marry his first wife Wanda LaVerne Jines of Princeton.
Frank's wife, Wanda, would die in 1966, leaving Wade with the responsibility of raising four daughters. Wade was working full-time at Snap-On Tool Company in Mt. Carmel and was a part-time insurance salesman, all while serving as chief cook and bottle washer and father of four young girls. The laundry, grocery shopping, housecleaning and advice that should have come from a mother could have been overwhelming, if not for the help of friends and family. The one person who was here to help Frank the most was his sister Anna Mae McDivitt. Wade would be a single parent for 15 years until 1981 when he would marry Wanda McClean of Owensville. With this marriage Wade's tribe increased to six daughters, five son-in-laws and six grandchildren in 1981.
Wade, an ordained minister entered the political arena in 1983 with his campaign to run for Mayor. His bid was a successful one and Wade took his place in office on January 1, 1984. Frank remembered his time in office as a positive time; he promoted a positive attitude among employees. He worked for new business, industries and jobs for Princeton. Wade started the practice of repaving streets, replacing the method of chip and seal.
Wade has remained active in the community serving as a City Councilman from District 1 from 2000 - 2003 and President of the Council in 2003. Wade has always been active in civic affairs serving on several boards and committees.
