Utility billing:
We read all residential, industrial, and commercial meters once a month. Bills are mailed so that they are received by the first of each month with a due date by the 15th of that month. If payment is not received by the 15th of the current month, a 10% penalty is added to the bill.
You may pay you bill by mail or in person at the water office located in
the municipal building at 310 West State.
Also,
for your convenience, a Night Deposit Box for your water bill payment is
located just inside the front of
the municipal building. |
|
Customers pay a minimum charge each month according to the size of meter installed, for
most residential customers the minimum charge is $13.43, for
which the customer is entitled to a quantity 2,990 gallons for
most residential customers.
| After the minimum
charge a fee pre 1,000 gallons would apply |

Leaks
A slow drip can add up to 15-20 gallons a day. Your water meter is the best detective for finding sizable leaks in your home. The
meter is more than likely located in a meter pit in your yard. Turn everything off carefully, so no water is being used anywhere in the house. Then check the position of the meter dial for about 15 minutes. If it hasn't moved, you have a relatively water-tight home. But if it has moved, start checking hose connections, faucets, and toilets.
