Post Treatment Aeration

In order to increase the dissolved oxygen concentration of the final effluent, the water cascades down concrete steps prior to reaching Richland Creek. Increasing the oxygen concentration encourages the growth of aquatic life down stream of the plant.

Richland Creek Outfall 001

The photo above is the point were the plant discharges into Richland Creek. A good testament to the plants good effluent discharge is the amount of aquatic life at the plants outfall. Hundreds of minnows and shiners live within a hundred feet of the outfall.
